Jennifer Lopez defended her Motown tribute at the 2019 Grammy Awards Sunday night saying that it was a "dream come true" in response to the critics. She was later joined by Grammys host Alicia Keys, Ne-Yo and Smokey Robinson, who joined her to sing My Girl.

"The thing about music is that it inspires all". "Mommy, this is for you because we used to dance around to this music", she told E! ahead of her performance.

"I don't think anyone who is intelligent is upset", the 78-year-old singer shared. "I think anyone who is upset is stupid".

Lopez performed "Please Mr. Postman" while wearing a black ensemble with white feathers and accompanied by a group of dancers.

But bad news for fans outside the U.S. as she will sadly only be performing in the US.

Well the problem is Smokey, sure everyone listened to Motown but the legacy of Motown gave a voice to the Black struggle.

Alliance Of American Football Debut Draws Millions Of Viewers On CBS
The team ended up falling 26-0 to the Birmingham Iron . "They saw enough good plays, especially after the first quarter". Other startup football leagues like the USFL and XFL did fantastic ratings right away, and then those fizzled quickly.

"Grammy failed on the Motown tribute #GRAMMYs".

When queried about why Lopez was the right fit the performance, Robinson said simply Motown's music is universal.

Lopez, 49, is a self-professed superfan of the hit HGTV series Fixer Upper - and the star revealed she could barely contain her excitement when Rodriguez surprised her with a FaceTime call with the show's star Joanna Gaines. "It's such a good moment". Though she has been performing regularly in Las Vegas with her "All I Have" residency at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, this will be her first tour since 2012.

However, despite her incredible routine, viewers were quick to call the star out over her Latina background - claiming the ceremony should have chosen a black singer.

Berry Gordy, who stood during Lopez's performance, founded Motown Records in 1959. Huffington Post editor Phillip Lewis posted, "I'll never understand why they didn't choose someone Black for a MOTOWN tribute". "I think that's why I'm the performer I am today, because of that music".

Once you take a look at JLo's health regimen, you can see she shouldn't have any trouble keeping up pace traveling the country.
