Wells Fargo Outage: Website, App Down and Not Working, Gateway Error

"We continue to work on restoring all our services as soon as possible, and encourage customers to contact us if they have questions or concerns". As of 10 a.m., online banking services remained unavailable.

Wells Fargo said customers having issues using online banking and the mobile app on Thursday morning. The company tweeted an apology to customers who may be experiencing an issue.

Credit and debit cards are up for purchases and its bank branches are operational along with contact center systems but "customers may experience longer than usual delays contacting Wells Fargo's Phone Bank". The bank's homepage was down with "technical difficulties" but said accounts were accessible through ATMs, stores and customer service representatives.

Wells Fargo has dealt with a string of controversies in recent years.

Public Health reports no new Clark County measles cases
Elizabeth Steiner Hayward used to be a champion for vaccinations, but she's one of the chief budget writers this session. Two doses of the vaccine are about 97 percent effective at preventing measles; one dose is about 93 percent effective.

The website DownDetector.com showed reports of Wells Fargo access issues spreading across the entire continental US. "Thanks for your patience while we research this issue".

Even so, customers on Friday morning complained via Twitter about not receiving their direct deposits, while others said they still couldn't access their accounts.

Angry customers took to Twitter to vent about the problems they encountered.

We reached out to Steve Carlson, a VP of Corporate Communications for the region that includes Iowa, and he released the exact same information from Wells Fargo's second tweet.
