Warriors have interest in acquiring Cleveland guard Rodney Hood

Cleveland Cavaliers' Rodney Hood, left, drives past Washington Wizards' Tomas Satoransky, from the Czech Republic, in the second half of an NBA basketball game, Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019, in Cleveland. He'll get a chance to do more with Portland.

The Cavs acquired shooting guard Nik Stauskas, point guard Wade Baldwin and second-round picks in 2021 and 2023, with a league source confirming a report by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The Blazers are 32-20 and fourth in the Western Conference.

Hood has been averaging 12.2 points, 2.5 rebounds and two assists per game with the Cavaliers and has plenty to offer a contending team like Portland.

He was a 2014 first-round pick of Utah. However, the 6-foot-8 forward never fully fit in with the Cavs, and after starting Cleveland's first playoff game, he was pulled from the rotation by then-coach Tyronn Lue.

The incident caused major disruption at Australia's third largest airport , which was shut for more than two hours. He then chased the woman, a family member, while brandishing the knife, witnesses told Brisbane's The Sunday Mail.

The Cavs are collecting draft assets following a four-year run to the Finals. Burks - on an $11.5 million expiring contract - is the more likely of the two to be moved.

Cleveland has added seven draft picks this season in deals for Hood, Kyle Korver, Sam Dekker and George Hill. In a related move, the Cavaliers have released guard Kobi Simmons from his 10-day contract. Through 44 games, the Canadian is averaging 6.1 points in 15.3 minutes per game. He also has played for Sacramento, Philadelphia and Brooklyn.

Baldwin, 22, was selected 17th overall by the Memphis Grizzlies in 2016 out of Vanderbilt, but has just one career start.

In his third season out of Vanderbilt, Baldwin has been a bit-part player for the Blazers, averaging 5.9 minutes a night in 16 games this year.
