Moore’s NBA Trade Deadline Primer: What I’m Hearing on Anthony Davis, Grizzlies, More

Brad Turner reported for the LA Times that the Los Angeles Lakers submitted the monster offer the Pelicans were seeking before the February 7th National Basketball Association trade deadline.

The Pelicans and Lakers have engaged in trade talks for Davis, and Los Angeles made a harder push on Monday by offering six players and two first-round picks, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The Los Angeles Lakers have made their intentions for New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis clear and are waiting to hear back, per varied reports Tuesday afternoon.

"I haven't been through anything like this", Gentry said of Davis' trade demand.

ESPN reported Monday that Davis has given the Pelicans a list with a "handful" of clubs where he would sign a long-term deal after a trade, saying it includes Milwaukee and does not include Boston.

Still, nothing has changed for the Celtics, Bulpett reported, despite news that Davis' father has said he doesn't want his son to play there, or that the Celtics supposedly aren't a team with which Davis would sign an extension in July 2020.

GM had just 26 openings leading up to layoffs; employee sentiment plummeting
GM said some 2,250 workers accepted severance agreements by November 19. "All of them are impacted", Rothenberg said. Some other small salaried layoffs previously took place.

When it comes to the Knicks, Wojnarowski reports that the Pelicans rejected a package centred around Kristaps Porzingis, who the team traded to the Dallas Mavericks last week. In fact, Woj reports that the Pelicans want to be "overcompensated" to even consider making a trade with LA.

Landed in Indy; update on Lakers-Pelicans talks.

The Nets' opportunity to put a deal on the table including an All-Star level talent gives them quite the edge over teams like the Lakers, but it doesn't stop there.

In Morris' case, he would have to agree to sign with the Pelicans, a rebuilding team without Davis. But a deal sending Davis to the Laker remains far from imminent.

Before the season, Doc Rivers and Lawrence Frank claimed they wanted the Clippers to become a destination franchise. The Pelicans believe that the Lakers' bid at the trade deadline will still be available to them in the offseason, sources said. New Orleans must really like Jayson Tatum. There is a theory bouncing around now that this list actually isn't Davis' real list, but is instead a way for Davis and his agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group, to force a way to join LeBron James and the Lakers. Davis will garner a super-max contract upward of $240 million whenever he lands.
