Report: Athletics Expect Heisman Winner Kyler Murray To Enter NFL Draft

The Heisman Trophy winning Oklahoma quarterback has to choose whether he wants to enter the 2019 NFL Draft or report to spring training with the Oakland Athletics and begin his baseball career.

Kyler Murray is likely to know well before the NFL Draft if he'll be a first- or second-round pick. Best for the Major League Baseball or the NFL?

The original news came from Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, who reported that the Athletics expect Murray to enter the National Football League draft.

According to a source, Murray declaring for the draft is not considered to be contractually significant.

Sources also told ESPN that the A's expect to see Murray, whom they drafted in the first round a year ago, in spring training from mid-February until mid-March, then have him start his first professional baseball season at Class A Stockton.

She also gave access to her social media account to her friend Noura, who also fled Saudi Arabia because she renounced Islam. Once, she said, her family locked her up in a room for half a year because she cut her hair in a style they disliked.

Murray was the first athlete in history to be selected to the Under Armour All-American game in both football and baseball.

Slusser notes that declaring for the draft does not mean the Heisman victor will decide to reject his $4.66 million deal with the A's outright, but it does increase the chances of him ultimately choosing football over baseball. Murray has a lot more pocket passing skills than you'd expect for a small, athletic quarterback.

Less than a year ago, the Arizona Cardinals committed to Josh Rosen as their franchise quarterback.

Murray faces a very hard decision in the "nice problem to have" department. There have also been speculations that the Arizona Cardinals may get involved in the Murray sweepstakes due to their newly named head coach, Kliff Kingsbury, having a part in recruiting him to Texas A&M. While baseball contracts are generally larger and feature more guarantees than football, the chances of not succeeding in baseball are relatively high. Russell Wilson is the best comparison, but even he was a third-round pick.
