Huawei punishes employees for iPhone tweet blunder

Huawei is punishing two employees for a company Twitter message that was tweeted from an iPhone

When outsourced social media handler Sapient experienced "VPN problems" with a desktop computer it used an iPhone with a roaming SIM card in order to send the message on time at midnight, Huawei said in the memo.

Huawei has now caught up with Apple in the ranking of the largest smartphone manufacturer.

Reuters and Bloomberg cited an internal memo as saying that Huawei blamed the blunder on an outside company it employs to manage its social-media overseas.

The blunder was first spotted by popular YouTuber Marques Brownless (also known as MKBHD). Nikkei Asian Review reported on December 24 that dozens of Chinese companies are subsidizing their employees' purchases of Huawei smartphones, up to 20 percent of the cost of the phone in some cases. Washington is also reportedly encouraging USA allies to stop using the Chinese company's phones and network equipment.

This is not the first time an Android phone maker has been caught using an iPhone.

US Presidential Hopeful Elizabeth Warren Cautious, But Not Anti-Crypto
Well she did, and the whole thing was hell for Native Americans , but Warren is moving on, and alas, Trump isn't. Warren will also convene a conversation with female leaders in nearby Ankeny on Sunday morning.

In an internal memo dated January 3, Huawei said it has demoted two employees responsible by one rank and reduced their monthly salaries by 5,000 yuan (£570). And this time around, Huawei did not turn a blind eye to the whole thing. The Chinese technology giant is behind Samsung, which recently took legal action after one of its brand ambassadors was seen using an iPhone. This includes another instance for Huawei with Wonder Woman herself, Gal Galdot. The tweet posted from the iPhone was quickly deleted by the company but not before many spotted the details. However, this did not stop Huawei from working with Galdot on future product releases, like the P20 the following year. Just last month, however, the microblogging service brought tweet across the platform.

Why does all of this matter? . In fact, even if you aren't tweeting on their behalf and are not using their phone, it still looks quite bad.

Unfortunately, the tweet got stamped with "via Twitter for iPhone" in the process.

Although this is not such a grave mistake, it still is an embarrassing situation, especially considering the alleged iPhone boycott.
