When Elizabeth Warren walks into a gray-walled event space in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on Friday evening, she will effectively kick off a presidential primary contest that is already making Democrats' heads spin.

Warren responded: 'What I can do is I can be in this fight for all of our families.

At least five candidates have launched exploratory committees for the 2020 presidential election. On Thursday, he tweeted an image of a campaign-style logo showing Warren's name with a slogan, "1/2020th", which was a dig at the small amount of indigenous blood her recently released DNA test found her to have (She is between 1/64 and 1/1,024 Native American Indian, according to the results).

In various speeches and question-and-answer sessions, Warren described her early campaign as a fight. "I am not a citizen of a tribe".

Famed for her stern rhetoric about big banks and corporations, Warren simply said "Wells Fargo" at one point before the crowd of 700 in Des Moines drowned her out with boos. And so she did this DNA test that really sort of backfired on her. "That's what I'm fighting for and that's why today I'm launching an exploratory committee for president". In order to disparage her as a politician, Trump adopted the racially charged nickname "Pocahontas" for Sen.

'Tribal citizenship is very different from ancestry. "Tribes - and only tribes - determine tribal citizenship, and I respect that difference".

"It bothers me that there is this test of likability just because she is a woman", Nelson said.

Seemingly unperturbed by the question, Warren said that she was "glad for us to have a chance to talk about it".

Angela Nelson, 50, a special education teacher from Omaha, Nebraska, said she was concerned to see questions raised about Warren's likeability amid comparisons to Hillary Clinton, the unsuccessful 2016 Democratic nominee.

The questioner, though, seemed less concerned about the offense the test caused to some Native Americans than its potential to fuel President Donald Trump's attacks.

In an email to supporters, Warren said she'd more formally announce a campaign plan early in 2019.

Nationals Rumors: Nats still in on Bryce Harper after December meeting
The Athletic's Jim Bowden tweeted last night that the Nationals latest offer to Harper was actually " much more " than the $300MM commonly quoted.

"She's not afraid to stand toe to toe with Trump", he said.

Bounding onto stage in a packed building in Des Moines's trendy East Village, Senator Elizabeth Warren of MA waved to the crowd before speaking in a strained voice.

Asked about the DNA test she took past year, Warren said she understands the difference between citizenship and ancestry.

"Warren missed her moment in 2016, and there's reason to be skeptical of her prospective candidacy in 2020", the editorial board wrote.

Also notable are Warren's relatively low approval ratings - a December Quinnipiac University poll pegged her at only 30 percent favorability.

Warren hired Kane Miller, who managed Democrat Abby Finkenauer's winning campaign over GOP U.S. Rep. Rod Blum in Iowa, and Janice Rottenberg, who led the Iowa Democratic Party's coordinated campaign and was credited with helping the party win two GOP-held U.S. House seats and gain ground in the state legislature.

But she says Washington continues to work great for those with money, but not for anyone else.

LEGGIO: I think there's a lot of men out there that would never vote for a woman.

Warren's desire to be relatable came full circle during her trip to Iowa, in which she awkwardly "admitted" to purchasing things on Amazon when asked about internet regulation. "I don't have any power to do that", Warren continued, to which another audience member shouted out, "Yes you do!"

But even some of those most inclined towards Warren in the primary wondered about general election electability.
