Kevin Hart ‘evaluating’ returning to host the Oscars after Ellen De Generes sit-down

As we reported last month, Kevin Hart stepped down as the host of this year's Academy Awards once he faced backlash for anti-LGBTQ comments he made years ago.

In a Variety piece that was published the same time as the Ellen interview, Hart said that he would not consider going back to host the Oscars as it would be a step backwards.

Hart said his hesitation to host, which he said was a dream for him, comes from fear of the people who went through his almost 40,000 tweets to find incriminating ones. "I think the night will be about you, and it should be about you, and you should host the Oscars, and I'm going to talk you into it".

Members of the LGBTQ community publicly characterized DeGeneres' endorsement of Hart on Thursday as a "betrayal", while others scolded her for seemingly belittling journalists and other knowledgeable critics for researching the incoming host's background. I know that within my apologies, I've taken 10 years to put my apology to work.

Look, I love the Oscars.

Hart wrote homophobic remarks on Twitter mostly between 2009 to 2011. "Because that was wrong". I believe in second chances.

Kevin Hart said he's reconsidering whether he should accept the offer to host the 2019 Oscars after his comedic peer Ellen DeGeneres called the Academy to lobby on his behalf, ABC News reports. He has also made anti-gay comments in his standup act in the past.

Murray read the Alabama defense and took off for an 8-yard touchdown with 4:23 left in the fourth quarter. The Tigers are going to score and that's going to keep them in the game from the jump.

He added, "On my side, I say openly I'm wrong for my past words".

The magazine has also called hosting the Oscars "the least wanted job in Hollywood".

"Either my apology is accepted or it isn't", he said. Hart removed himself as host and refused to apologize, stating he had already issued an apology for the tweets, however he did eventually apologize again.

But DeGeneres said they will win if he doesn't host the Oscars. The comedian gave up the gig after the academy asked him to apologize, but later had a change of heart and apologized to anyone who was offended by his statements. "Somehow I'll get to the stage but it's not going to be in this way because it just comes with such a weird cloud at this point". Either I can move forward or I can't, but you can't grow as a person without mistakes.

Another source told the outlet that The Academy hoped Hart would respond to the controversy with a meaningful discussion, and his initial response was disappointing leading them to deliver the ultimatum - either he apologized for his tweets or he would be let go. "I don't want to step on that stage and make that night about me and my past". I'm a guy that understands now.

DeGeneres continued, "As a gay person".
