Deputies said the family of five was leaving a Walmart parking lot when an unidentified man in a red pickup truck pulled up to the side of their vehicle and started shooting.

As of now, the shooter is still at large according to the Harris County Police Department.

The seven-year-old was the daughter of the woman who was wounded, authorities said.

Thirty-year-old LaPorsha Washington told KTRK-TV from her hospital bed Monday that the man driving a red pickup sped up after firing into her vehicle, only to pull in front and slow down before firing again. He said her mother, 30-year-old LaPorsha Washington, was shot in the arm but survived her injury.

"Please keep this family in your prayers", Gonzalez said in a Facebook post.

Jazmine Barnes, her mother and three siblings were driving near the store in northeastern Harris County close to 7 a.m. on Sunday when a man pulled next to them in a red or maroon four-door pickup truck and fired several shots, the Harris County Sheriff's Office said.

How Trump’s Iraq visit sounded like a campaign rally
Much of the US campaign in Syria has been waged by warplanes flying out of Qatar and other locations in the Middle East. The strike destroyed the tunnel entrance and killed four IS fighters, according to the US military in Baghdad.

Sheriff's Maj. Jesse Razo said the other girls who were inside the auto when the shooting happened were "shaken" and "devastated". "A total of 5 occupants in the auto witnessed this child, their loved one, shot and killed before their eyes".

Investigators said they are still trying to determine a motive for the shooting. "So senseless. It's never easy, and extra hard during the holiday season", Gonzalez tweeted. If you know anything please contact us asap.

"They're devastated", Razo told reporters. "We will be looking for you, and we will find you".

We're going to use all resources available to bring this killer to justice.
He was described as being in his 40s and having a beard, Razo said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 713-221-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
