While it is unclear if Samberg may be nominated in the Best Actor - Television Series Musical or Comedy category, many have speculated that Oh could be nominated for her work on Killing Eve.

The performers in the series were also recognised, with Hugh Grant being rewarded for his role as the former Liberal leader Jeremy Thorpe in A Very English Scandal.

Benedict Cumberbatch was also shortlisted for playing Patrick Melrose in the Sky Atlantic drama of the same name based on Edward St Aubyn's novels, as was Thandie Newton, for Westworld.

Foreign Language: "Capernaum", "Girl", "Never Look Away," "Roma", "Shoplifters".

Adam McKay's Dick Cheney biopic Vice swooped in to lead nominations for the 76th annual Golden Globe Awards, narrowly edging Bradley Cooper's tear-jerking revival A Star Is Born, the interracial road-trip drama Green Book, and the period romp The Favourite. There were plenty of pleasant and unexpected surprises, though, including The Good Place picking up two nominations after being shut out a year ago, and Elsie Fisher being nominated for Eighth Grade.

Samberg is a former Saturday Night Live, cast member and a previous Golden Globe victor for television comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

With Thursday morning's 2019 Golden Globe nominations comes the extremely predictable news that Lady Gaga is up for Best Actress in a Drama. Golden Globes-nominated movies now available on FandangoNow are "Black Panther", "BlacKkKlansman", "Crazy Rich Asians", "Isle of Dogs", "Incredibles 2", "Eighth Grade" (for actress Elsie Fisher), "Tully" (for actress Charlize Theron) and "A Quiet Place" (for music score).

Actor, TV Series, Musical or Comedy: Sacha Baron Cohen, "Who Is America"; Jim Carrey, "Kidding"; Michael Douglas, "The Kominsky Method"; Donald Glover, "Atlanta"; Bill Hader, "Barry".

But the HFPA had a different plan for the baritone-voiced Elliott (a two-time Globes nominee), and instead, surprised with a supporting actor nomination for Sam Rockwell's turn as George W. Bush in "Vice". Rhode Island native and onetime MA resident Peter Farrelly garnered a Best Director nomination, as well as a Best Screenplay nod, which he shared with co-writers Nick Vallelonga and Peabody native Brian Currie.

A whole awards ceremony of that?

The duo follows previous hosts Seth Meyers (2018), Jimmy Fallon (2017) and Ricky Gervais (2016, 2012, 2011, 2010), as well as co-hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler (2015, 2014, 2013). While Oh does not appear to have any past award show hosting credits, Samberg has hosted both the Independent Spirit Awards and the Emmys.
