The Bush family has assured Trump that eulogies at Wednesday's funeral will avoid any criticism of him, The Washington Post reported.

The US Postal Service announced it will "suspend regular mail deliveries, retail services and administrative office activity" on Wednesday for the national day of mourning honoring the late former President George H.W. Bush.

Another person told the Post that Bush "wouldn't want anyone there to feel uncomfortable, including the incumbent president'". "It was somewhat theatrical, uh, in nature, but it's, I, I can't imagine that this is very comfortable for him, these moments and I think it is going to be fascinating to watch the cathedral on Wednesday and how he interacts with these other presidents and how he sits there during these eulogies".

"Many people doubted I could serve the president since we had a rather rough campaign, but it wasn't true - because of the man he was, not because of me", Dole said in 2016.

11 a.m. ET - Funeral service at St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Houston. He will be buried alongside Barbara Bush, his wife of 73 years who died in April. Flags on public buildings are flying at half-staff for 30 days out of respect for Bush.

"Our nation has lost a cherished servant leader who has truly been the man for all seasons".

Former Presidents Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama will attend.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott issued an executive order to close state agencies, offices and departments. Dole also served in the war.

Shortly before leaving the service, he married his 19-year-old sweetheart, Barbara Pierce, and forged the longest presidential marriage in USA history.
