Kareem Hunt cut by Kansas City Chiefs after alleged assault video on woman emerges

Louis Riddick addresses the Kansas City Chiefs releasing Kareem Hunt after video emerges showing Hunt shoving and kicking a woman in a Cleveland Hotel back in February.

Backing up earlier reports by ESPN and MMQB that indicated the league didn't seek to investigate the matter fully at the time, Hunt told Salters that the NFL never reached out to him in the initial aftermath to ask him about his role in it, even though people at the league office reportedly spoke with the Chiefs about it.

To finish the interview, Salters asked Hunt why another team should give him the opportunity to play in the NFL.

He will likely face a suspension of at least six games, as the NFL intends to punish Hunt for this incident and a separate altercation he had with a man in June, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. He said he met the girl that night but did not specify what the disagreement - which escalated to Hunt pushing her to the ground and then kicking her - was about. That incident led to a lengthy legal saga, and it culminated in an investigation by Robert Mueller into the NFL's mishandling of it. The NFL's ongoing investigation will include further attempts to speak to the complainants involved in the incident. "And I honestly wanted her just to leave, but it's no excuse for me to act that way or to even put myself in that position".

Police were called to the scene during the February 10 incident, but no charges were filed.

As to the why he did what he did, apparently "some things were said".

Girl's Letter to Steph Curry Changed How Under Armour Sells His Shoes
He added on Instagram that he was "so proud of my baby girl for making a difference". The Warriors have gone 5-5 in Curry's absence. I enjoy going to Warriors games with my dad.

The Pro Bowl running back had been preparing for Sunday's game at Oakland when a months-old video surfaced online. Hunt is listed as the suspect in one of them and a woman, Abigail Ottinger, is the suspect in the other one. Hunt was pressed on a few of the details that he apparently did not feel were important to share with the Chiefs until the security camera footage was obtained by TMZ. That's just how I look at it.

He was asked whether he had made contact with the woman from the incident. However, even if he lands with another team, he won't be allowed to play until the National Football League hands out his final punishment.

The Chiefs said the footage proved that Hunt, who helped propel the team to first place in the AFC with a 9-2 record, had been "untruthful" with investigators. "I've worked for this my whole entire life".

Rice was originally suspended for two games by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who later was heavily criticized for such a light penalty after the video was released.

Just last weekend, the 49ers cut linebacker Reuben Foster when he was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence - he has since signed with Washington but remains on the NFL's exempt list. I regret, I just regret my decision that I made that night. "Everything is really happening fast right now and I just want everybody to forgive me". I think I deserve it because if you really know me, and everybody that I'm really close to - I've had really close women who are friends - I'm so respectful to everyone.
