Cameroon stripped of 2019 African Cup of Nations in June

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have officially stripped Cameroon off their hosting rights for the Africa Cup of Nations which will be played in June 2019.

This decision was reached at the end of the extraordinary meeting of CAF's Executive Committee on Friday in Accra.

A new, rushed bidding process will now take place, with CAF saying a new host country would be chosen by December 31. South Africa, hosts of the 2010 World Cup, could also be a viable option for CAF.

Two reports that were central to the final decision regarding Cameroon were to be tabled namely; report of inspection visits of the security committee from October 27 to November 1 as well as a report of the inspection visit from November 11-15.

For journalist Pierre Youte "it's perhaps a good decision. like this Cameroon will have the time to learn and find the means to host a CAN worthy of the name".

Wait, Are Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle Actually Feuding?
Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton reportedly don't get on. "Kate and Meghan are very different people ", the source added. Wow, we did not see that coming.

Morocco immediately said it was ready to replace Cameroon, beginning more than a year of claims and counter-claims that CAF intended taking the tournament away from Cameroon and giving it to the north African country.

The 2019 finals will take place from June 15-July 13, a change from the traditional January period, a change that will be welcomed by club managers in Europe who were forced to release their African players to global duty in mid-season.

One of those was to assess the security situation after an increase in violence in the southwest and northwest of the country involving English-speaking separatists and government forces.

And it will be the first to feature 24 teams - up from 16 at the 2017 edition in Gabon.
