Indian Sikh devotees offers prayers as they look towards the Kartarpur temple which is situated in Pakistan from the Indian side on the outskirts of Amritsar
In his tweet, the Spokesperson of the Foreign Office Dr Muhammad Faisal said, "The world comes together for the #PakistanKartarpurSpirit - diplomats attending the groundbreaking ceremony".
On Kartarpur border corridor opening, Malhotra said some political pressure was there, however, the Indian government's assenting in this regard was mainly because of people's demand.
Union Ministers Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Hardeep Singh Puri represented India at the event.
Sidhu crossed the worldwide border at Wagah and was received by Pakistani authorities.
Indian Minister for External Affairs (EAM) SushmaSwaraj on Wednesday said that India will not be attending the Saarc summit being organised in Islamabad, Pakistan, India media reports said. Subsequently, the Pakistan government in September 2018, made a decision to open the corridor before the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak for visa-free entry of Indian Sikhs from India to Pakistan.
The proposal to construct the corridor providing visa-free access to Sikh pilgrims was renewed by General Bajwa in August this year.
The Pakistani prime minister has said that India and Pakistan should learn lessons from the past to resolve the differences over Jammu and Kashmir while asserting that if India takes one step forward then Pakistan will take two steps forward toward friendship during the foundation laying ceremony of a pilgrimage corridor.
"Where Pakistan and India stand today, we have seen such a situation for 70 years now", Imran Khan said.
If we want to eliminate poverty, we need to open our border and start trade, said PM Khan.
Carlos Tevez: We are being forced to play Copa Libertadores
No visiting fans are allowed in the stadium, following a 2013 ban on away fans to stop football related violence in Argentina . A video taken on a phone inside the bus shows Boca players chanting only to fall abruptly silent as the first missile strikes.
She, however, added that resumption of a "bilateral dialogue and the Kartarpur project are two different things".
"If France and Germany can be part of a union and move forward, why can't we?"
Commenting on the meeting of Khalistani leader with Bajwa, Indian Army chief General Bipin Rawat said, "Everybody talks about giving peace a chance".
"Both India and Pakistan are nuclear armed countries".
Khan wondered why Sidhu, who advocated peace between the two countries, had been criticised for his previous visit. "The only issue between us is Kashmir".
He assured the Sikh community that facilities at Kartarpur Sahib will be even better for 550th birth celebrations for Guru Nanak Dev next year.
Khan gave examples from his cricket playing days and said a player used to have a fear of losing while entering the stadium.
Khan praised Sidhu for his quick wit and affability and once again called for a resolution of issues between both the neighbouring countries. "This is a miracle of Baba Guru Nanak", she said. The premier said he hoped we don't have to wait till Sidhu is chief minister to have better relations with India. Following their biometric identification and security clearance, they will freely perform their religious rituals in Gurdwara Darbar Sahib and return to their country after the biometric screening.
