Apart from Kohli and Tendulkar, Dhoni is the only other Indian to have scored more than 4,000 runs on home soil. After losing the successful openers, the responsibility of run-scoring fell on the shoulders of Virat Kohli and the middle order.

They shared a fourth-wicket stand of 143 which saw the Windies reduce the required run rate to less than six runs per over to assume control of the match.

The remaining three matches will be played in Pune, Mumbai (Brabourne Stadium) and Thiruvananthapuram on October 27, 29 and November 1.
