'They can use Huawei': China mocks report it tapped Trump’s iPhone

Speaking in an interview on Thursday, Hua Chunying, a frequent Chinese government spokesperson and deputy director of the country's foreign ministry information department, said that if Americans "are very anxious about iPhones being tapped, they can use Huawei".

If the U.S.is still concerned about security, Trump could "abandon all modern communication devices and cut off contact with the outside completely", she said.

The New York Times reported Wednesday that Chinese and Russian spies often secretly listen when Trump talks with old friends on his Apple iPhone.

Apparently, China and Russian Federation are listening to his calls, the New York Times reported.

The NYT doesn't describe the eavesdropping in much detail other than to say "the calls made from the phones are intercepted as they travel through cell towers, cables, and switches that make up national and global cell phone networks".

NYT's sources say Chinese government-sponsored spy agencies are monitoring Trump's close business confidantes and even have a detailed profile of them.

Despite the furor surrounding former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's handling of her emails during her time in the Obama administration, Congress and conservatives more broadly seem to have little interest in President Donald Trump's demonstrated inability to follow basic cybersecurity measures to protect his and the government's sensitive information.

TheNew York Times report said the officials raising an alarm about Trump's refusal to stop making unsecured calls were doing so out of frustration.

Here are the winning numbers for the $1 billion Mega Millions jackpot
Mega Millions " entered historic territory " Saturday after officials confirmed there were no winners for Friday's drawing. But a note of caution - the chance of matching all six numbers and taking home the grand prize is one in 302.5 million.

According to the report, the discovery was made by White House officials who were alerted by individuals working within these foreign governments.

China responded to a report that its spies listened to President Donald Trump's phone conversations.

The snarky reply signals to the ban on the use of Huawei devices by USA government agencies, signed into law by President Trump himself back in August.

Trump, for his part, denied the Times' report via Twitter.

Due to pressure from Congress over national security concerns raised by USA intelligence experts, the Chinese smartphone maker's plans for US expansion have come to a halt.

Trump called the Times report incorrect on Thursday, and dismissed it as "long and boring".

Trump's predecessor, Barack Obama, was the first president in office to use a smartphone, but most of its features were eliminated to limit the number of ways in which it could be compromised.
