Lottery players will have a chance at the nation's ninth-largest jackpot when numbers are drawn for Friday's Mega Millions game.

The $548 million jackpot refers to the annuity option, paid out over 29 years.

Mega Millions jackpot prize totals climb each drawing when no players claim a ideal six-number match to the drawing.

This weekend's Mega Millions tickets will be available for $2 per ticket and can be purchased until 10:45 tonight in MA.

Friday's drawing will be held at 10 p.m.

Mega Millions tickets cost $2 per play and there are a total of nine ways to win a prize, ranging from the jackpot down to $2. After Tuesday's picks this week, the jackpot climbed $78 million after no one matched all six numbers. The most recent Mega Ball was 18 on Tuesday night.

The largest jackpot in Mega Millions history was won in March 2012.

The second-largest jackpot was $648 million.

Mega Millions is played in 44 states as well as Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

And if you don't get lucky Friday night, there's still the Powerball drawing on Saturday.
