PlayStation Classic mini retro console is launching in time for Christmas

PlayStation Classic mini retro console is launching in time for Christmas

Sony plans to release a revamped model of the iconic gaming console, called PlayStation Classic on December 3, Sony announced Wednesday.

Sony's PlayStation raised the bar for home console systems when it hit shelves in 1994, selling 100 million units worldwide. It comes with wired controllers and connections for modern TVs.

Sony announced the console on its blog on September 18, U.S. time, specifying a December 3 release date - the day of the release of the original PlayStation in 1994. The few games that have already been announced make me pretty excited, though. Like the Nintendo classics, this system is intended for folks who have fond memories of PlayStation but who may not game on a regular basis.

Wild Arms and Jumping Flash have also been confirmed for the PlayStation Classic.

After the success of Nintendo's NES classic and SNES classic, we will be keeping an eye out for UAE release dates.

The mini console is approximately 45% smaller than the original PlayStation, and it emulates the original's look and feel by featuring similar controllers and packaging.

What did you make of City's performance against Lyon? We will try to reduce the impact and give the players what they need and hopefully it will work well.

The new retro console is a tribute to the original PlayStation. All of those games will be playable in their original format, Sony said. The PlayStation Classic even apes some of the basic functionality of its Nintendo rivals, such as the ability to suspend your game by pressing the Reset button.

Over the course of the day, pre-orders for the miniature console have been appearing across various retailers.

The console which retails for around $60 comes with 30 games including Nintendo's famed Super Mario and Donkey Kong characters.

PlayStation Classic is going for an RRP of £89.99 / €99.99 / $99.99.

The other 15 spots on the PS1 Classic are bound to include some of our other favorites, such as Crash Team Racing, Spyro the Dragon, and Tomb Raider.
