Google is giving Inbox app the axe next year

Google to kill Inbox early next year

Inbox, Google's innovative app for email, has received its death sentence.

"Four years after launching Inbox in 2014, we've learned a lot about how to make email better - and we've taken popular Inbox experiences and added them into Gmail to help more than a billion people get more done with their emails everyday". Back then, many assumed that Google would move all Gmail users to Google Inbox. It was conceived with mobile devices in mind and ditched a decade's worth of Gmail cruft in favor of tools focused on email efficiency, such as the way it displayed attachments right in the inbox view and incorporated a built-in task manager. In a post to the G Suite Updates blog, Google says that native functionality within Gmail "is easier to use and performs better" than Gmail Offline, so it's made the decision to remove the app from the Chrome Web Store on December 3. The app which served as an experimental testbed for Gmail features as well as a streamlined email client for the service, has apparently outlived its welcome with the company. Google was pretty adamant about the future of Inbox saying at that time that there's no reason users should be anxious, as the app is here to stay. At that time, the company will discontinue the app.

Donald Trump administration to take tough stance against International Criminal Court
Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel (Jewish Home) called the measure a "New Year's gift" to Israel and the Jewish people. The Palestinians were angered by Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital and to move the U.S.

Email is one of the oldest and most important forms of online communication. Maybe Inbox was doomed from the start, but erase the frustration of Inbox users on this sad day. Just another case of Google killing off an app or service, Google giveth and Google taketh. I'll take a look at Google's transition guide. In the new Gmail, you'll find workflows that are similar to your favourite ones in Inbox.
