With the DCEU's Wonder Woman and the MCU's upcoming Captain Marvel, female-led superhero movies are becoming more common.

The comic book and movie powerhouse has released 10 pictures to EW in the USA, which includes glimpses of Larson as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's strongest superhero, Jude Law as her mentor Mar-Vell, Ben Mendelsohn as the villainous Talos and a two-eyed, de-aged Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. And she's got a formidable enemy in the form of the Skrulls - the notorious Marvel baddies made all the more risky by their shape-shifting abilities.

They'll join Carol Danvers, the military pilot who wages a crucial battle within - between her human and superpowered Kree traits.

Currently, Ant-Man and the Wasp is Marvel's first movie that includes a female hero in the title, while Captain Marvel starring Academy Award victor Brie Larson is the studio's first female-led superhero film.

Following Captain Marvel, which is set to hit theatres in March, Marvel has a Black Widow film starring Scarlett Johansson in the works with Cate Shortland having signed on to direct.

Defending the US Open not Stephens' priority
The Open announcers said that she was battling a cold, and the absolutely stifling conditions weren't helping her energy level. She will play the victor of Tuesday's night match between Serena Williams and Karolina Pliskova in the last four.

"She can't help but be herself", Larson tells EW.

Asked why it took so long for Marvel to make a female superhero film happen, Feige added: 'I think there are a lot of reasons. This will be the first time a superheroine will lead a Marvel film. He went on to say that her humanity is "also the thing that makes her great".

Captain Marvel sidesteps the traditional origin-story template, and when it begins, Carol already has her powers. And she can be headstrong and reckless and doesn't always make the flawless decisions for herself.

Captain Marvel also stars Jude Law, Samuel L Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn. They feature the first look at Brie Larson as the title character and of the shape-shifting aliens called the Skrulls.

Captain Marvel will suit up in her own solo movie next March, and in the sequel to "Avengers: Infinity War" next May.
