Donald Trump shreds Bob Woodward as 'Dem operative'

Defense Secretary James Mattis then told colleagues Trump had the mental ability of'a fifth or sixth-grader

Defense Secretary James Mattis then told colleagues Trump had the mental ability of'a fifth or sixth-grader

According to Woodward, Mattis told staff to ignore a tirade by Trump against Syria's president Bashar al-Assad in the wake of a chemical weapons attack in April 2017 and the USA president's alleged statement: "Let's fucking kill him!"

The president on Wednesday called the book "total fiction" and said that Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and Chief of Staff John Kelly were both "insulted" by what Woodward wrote about them.

"Man, this new Bob Woodward book is going to be *wild, *" Brisbee tweeted above a tongue-in-cheek excerpt in which nuclear war between the US and North Korea was apparently averted when US Secretary of Defense James "Mad Dog" Mattis grabbed Trump's nose.

"He couldn't even be a one-person country lawyer down in Alabama", Trump said, according to Woodward's book.

After Mattis hung up the phone, he told one of his aides, "We're not going to do any of that". "As I stated back in May and still firmly stand behind: 'I spend more time with the [p] resident than anyone else, and we have an incredibly candid and strong relationship".

Now, far be it from Paste to insinuate that these statements are among the most ridiculous denials in political history, that Trump clearly demanded them in a fit of rage, and that Mattis and Kelly are acting under duress in an desperate attempt to cover their asses and placate their unhinged master.

In several television interviews, Woodward's former colleague Carl Bernstein maintained that his Watergate-era colleague is a meticulous journalist whose methodology is "indisputable".

United, under the leadership of Jose Mourinho , will take on Juventus (and Cristiano Ronaldo ) as well as Valencia and Young Boys. Three more former European champions Bayern Munich, Benfica, Ajax are together with underdog AEK Athens in Group E.

Meanwhile, in a gaggle with White House reporters on Wednesday, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said she "didn't know" if Woodward's depiction of the White House amounted to libel.

Woodward says he has "gained a lot of insight and documentation" and that his book will be a "tough look at the world and your administration and you".

Dowd, in a statement Tuesday, said "no so-called "practice session" or "re-enactment" " took place and denied saying Trump was likely to end up in an orange jumpsuit.

White House aides on Tuesday coordinated with other officials quoted in the book to dispute troublesome passages. As a former reality show star, he's involved in decisions about who is dispatched to defend the White House on television, what they're supposed to say, and general strategy for fighting negative broadcast stories. Woodward told him that he made the request to at least a half-dozen people close to the president, and that it was never granted. "This is the worst job I've ever had". The book also includes the first release of meaty dialogue between Mueller and Trump's lawyers.

Then there were pages about the supposed behind-the-scenes discussions between Trump and Mattis - where the former allegedly suggested to the latter the assassination of Syria President Bashar Assad - and about other presidential conversations on foreign and domestic policy. Woodward's book attributes some of its more hair-raising scenes, such as Mr. Kelly's rants about his boss, to interviews with multiple (unnamed) officials who were present at the time.

"The already discredited Woodward book, so many lies and phony sources, has me calling Jeff Sessions "mentally retarded" and "a dumb southerner",'" the president tweeted. That does not mean necessarily that they aren't interested in whether Trump's chief of staff called his boss a liar or not or whether an economic advisor swiped a document from Trump's desk. I said NEITHER, never used those terms on anyone, including Jeff, and being a southerner is a GREAT thing.
