LeBron on Kaepernick ad: 'I stand with Nike, all day, every day'

Nike's ad features a black-and-white close-up of Kaepernick's face and a message in white letters that serves as a clear show of support for his cause.

In 2016, Kaepernick, then a quarterback for the 49ers, began kneeling during the anthem to make a statement against racial injustice.

He called the move by Nike a "calculated risk", and says it's one that will pay off because "even negative press is good press".

Part of the reason this is a compelling acknowledgement from Brady is that he long has been associated with United States President Donald Trump.

"I stand with Nike, all day, every day", James said according to Jocelyn Novek of The Associated Press.

"I don't think they should do that because he is really not supporting the teams or the people who support him", said Frank Martinez, who lives in Turlock.

Unseeded Millman sends Federer crashing out of U.S. Open
Madison Keys eased into the quarter-finals of the US Open with a 6-1 6-3 victory over Slovakia's Dominika Cibulkova. That remains Nishikori's best Grand Slam showing. "I definitely think it was a special one, no doubt about it".

So far the President Trump has yet to weigh in on Nike's new campaign. Others vowed to wear their Nike apparel more frequently or to go out and buy Nike sports gear to make up for the boycott attempt.

When asked by a fan why Rich can't "disagree but still respect the same rights of others", Rich said that the discussion ended for him when Kaepernick compared "police to PIGS".

Williams, who is sponsored by Nike, has been a supporter of Kaepernick and he was at Flushing Meadows on Friday to see her defeat sister Venus in the third round.

While Nike officials were likely thrilled with the attention their campaign received, they probably didn't expect a plug from a man who doesn't believe women should be able to wear any of Nike's clothing. I would love to see how they would protest Home Depot: 'The walls in my house must go!' And also, I'm not going to lie, those flaming Nikes makes me nearly want to pay more.

"He's done a lot for the African American community, and it's cost him a lot", Williams said.

"In another way, it is what this country is all about, that you have certain freedoms to do things that other people think you shouldn't do", he added.
