Nick Kyrgios is supposed to be the one who plays trick shots. This was the worst part of the match for Roger who had to play against three break points in the fifth game as well, fending off all three with nice attacks and closing the game with another forehand victor to move 3-2 in front.

EPTEMBER 01: Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia shakes hands with Angelique Kerber of Germany after their women´s singles third round match on Day Six of the 2018 US Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on September 1, 2018.

Teenage sensation Alex de Minaur joined Kyrgios in bowing out, but in far more gracious fashion, going down 4-6 3-6 6-3 6-4 7-5 in a five-set cliffhanger against seventh-seeded 2014 Open champion Marin Cilic.

The 29-year-old Millman earned his own shot at Federer on Monday with a breakthrough 6-4 4-6 6-1 6-3 third-round win over Mikhail Kukushkin.

Kyrgios, seeded 30th, came into the match on the back of controversy surrounding the intervention of umpire Mohamed Lahyani during his four-set victory over Pierre-Hugues Herbert but began in encouraging fashion racing through his opening few service games. At the end of the first set, he was overhead on the tournament video feed swearing at his camp, unhappy with some of their suggestions to improve his first serve. "If you're not serving well, he takes advantage of it".

Federer breezed past Kyrgios in straight sets to reach the US Open fourth round and he made sure to entertain the crowd in the process. She then faced a break point, but Kanepi wasted that chance by sending a backhand wide. The ensuing victor didn't go over the net - it went around.

"I really was feeling great that year".

Potential Tropical Cyclone Six has formed
We are still seeing the GFS bring this up to hurricane strength while the Euro tops this out at tropical storm strength. However, the weather service doesnt believe the tropical wave poses a threat to the region because its so disorganized.

"Look, I know that I'm the clear favorite in the match", Djokovic said.

Much-hyped Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, fellow 20-year-old American Frances Tiafoe and 19-year-old Canadian Denis Shapovalov also failed to make it into the second week. "I'm probably going to place it on Instagram", Kyrgios said.

"I'm very happy to have won, I'm happy it was three".

At one point during the second set after missing a shot, he yelled out, "I need to hire a coach". On the men's side, I can not even think about returning John Isner (6ft 10in/2.08m) or Kevin Anderson (6ft 8ins/2.03m) or somebody like this. I did a lot of things well during the whole season.

A matchup with Thiem would be a rematch of the French Open final, won by Nadal, and their first not on clay.

"I am a big fan of John [Millman] - not many people know too much about him but he is such a hardworking guy and those guys have all the respect from those of us at the top", Federer said about his next challenge. "I hope that it's a little bit more comfortable on hard court, but I'm not sure".
