John Bolton Says North Korea Hasn't Done Much To Rid Itself Of Nuclear Weapons
North Korea on Thursday denounced USA calls for enforcing worldwide sanctions despite its goodwill moves and said progress on denuclearization promises could not be expected if Washington followed an "outdated acting script".
Pyongyang's state media has highlighted it has made goodwill gestures, such as a moratorium on nuclear and missile tests, the dismantling of a nuclear site, and the return of the remains of US soldiers killed in the 1950-53 Korean War.
Those American officials are "going against the intention of President Trump to advance the DPRK-U.S. relations, who is expressing gratitude to our goodwill measures for implementing the DPRK-U.S. joint statement", it said referring to the North by its official name, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Those followed contentious remarks last week by U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho on the sidelines of a regional summit in Singapore.
The stark comments come after Trump and Kim's June meeting in Singapore, during which the White House said the North had made firm pledges to rid itself of its nuclear weapons.
At Trump and Kim's historic summit, the two signed a document stating that Pyongyang would work toward "complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula".
"However, the United States responded to our expectation by inciting worldwide sanctions and pressure against the DPRK", it said in a statement carried by KCNA news agency.
It will mark the fourth such football match between North and South Korean workers, with the last game taking place in Pyongyang in 2015.
Reporting on preliminary results from a 10-month investigation, the Korea Customs Service said Friday it is seeking prosecutions of three local companies and their executives for smuggling or forging documents to say North Korean mineral resources came from Russian Federation.

Ri traveled this week to Iran, where President Hassan Rouhani told him the United States can not be trusted after the Trump administration reneged on a 2015 deal to lift sanctions in return for curbs on Iran's own nuclear program. Washington is pushing for the North to begin giving up its nuclear program.

It wasn't clear who would attend next week's talks, but such meetings have typically been handled in the past by South Korea's unification minister and his counterpart in the North.
Officials said they were also looking into whether any of the 14 vessels that transported North Korean coal violated sanctions banning such shipments.
