Elections agency says Imran Khan won Pakistan's election, but needs a coalition

During their talks, Modi expressed hope that democracy will hereafter take deeper roots in Pakistan and reiterated his vision for peace and development in the region, Ministry of External Affairs' official spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said on Monday night.

In an interview, he said that more members of Punjab Assembly will join PTI and with the inclusion of these members, the party will achieve the required total to form government in Punjab province.

A majority of 137 seats is needed to form a government.

Former Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif had travelled to New Delhi to attend Modi's oath-taking ceremony, and the Indian premier had in December 2015 made a stopover in Lahore to greet his counterpart on his birthday.

Earlier, the party leaders had maintained that they will not need support of any other party, the final preliminary results issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan on Saturday showed that the party was short of 22 seats to form government on its own.

An IMF spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that we have so far not received a request for a Fund arrangement from Pakistan and that we have not had discussions with the authorities about any possible intentions".

Trump to Seek Repeal of California's Smog-Fighting Power
California officials have long said they will sue if the Environmental Protection Agency makes good on the threat. That authority would also be revoked with the Trump administration's action.

The PTI is now negotiating with smaller parties, including the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Pakistan Muslim League-Q, Grand Democratic Alliance and independents to form a majority group among the 272-elected seats in the lower chamber of parliament, he said. "The solution to conflicts should be found through dialogue", he was quoted as telling Modi.

Away from Pakistan, I anxiously remained glued to the news sources to know if the awakened Pakistanis, the youth, had snubbed the dynastic dirty politics played by certain corrupt politicians who ruthlessly and shamelessly siphoned the country of its potential and power to the end over the decades.

Imran khan is the messiah for curing all the ailments crumbling away Pakistan and I prayed for his party's victory (Pakistan Tehreek -e-Insaaf ) along with countless Pakistanis.

His Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was the single largest party in Wednesday's election, which took place amid allegations of military meddling (to Khan's profit, his rivals said) and was marred by a deadly blast in Quetta. Leaders from Imran Khan's party termed the phone call a positive sign to begin a new chapter between the two nations. Relations worsened after terror attacks by Pakistan-based groups on several military bases in India.

He was a fierce critic of the U.S. war on terror, particularly the country's use of drone strikes in Pakistan, which targeted terrorist networks but also killed Pakistani civilians.
