According to Reuters, Merkel said Europe would have to first agree upon a reduction in tariffs.

"The problem I see, and where (our) difference lies, is that we must always remember and never forget that this is about human beings", Merkel told reporters.

She said Germany was delighted that the English soccer team was still in the World Cup competition in Russian Federation.

Orban said the solution is to close Europe's external borders and provide assistance to potential migrants in Africa and Asia to stop them coming.

Party in OKC: George stays put
George took the stage at a party in Oklahoma City on Saturday and announced he would be staying with the Thunder. Now Paul George is saying that the Lakers screwed up their chance to bring him home to L.A.

"If people can come, they will come", he said.

"We do protect our outer borders, but not with the goal of just walling ourselves off and talking about a kind of fortress", Merkel said at an animated joint news conference after hosting Orban in Berlin on Wednesday. As Redmond Shannon reports, the tensions centre on the controversial issue of immigration in Europe.

Migrants are supposed to be returned to where they first entered the European Union and applied for asylum, but those regulations have been largely unenforced. Merkel said that "Germany is a reliable partner in North Atlantic Treaty Organisation".
