Kevin Durant Agrees To One-Plus-One, $61.5M Contract With Warriors

The two-time Finals MVP's choices this offseason were detailed previously mostly from his perspective, but his decision has significant effects for the Warriors as well.

The Golden State Warriors don't have a lot of needs - at least not in the starting lineup - but the reigning National Basketball Association champions will, as always, look to upgrade their bench in free agency. A person close to the situation also adds that it comes with a player option for 2019-20, meaning that Durant could quite possibly flirt with free agency once again next summer. However, he said all along that he had no intention of signing elsewhere. As the New York Times' Marc Stein says, Durant will be paid $30.5 million next season.

Durant notoriously gave the Warriors a $10 million discount last season after capturing his first championship, which allowed the front office to sign veterans like Shaun Livingston and Andre Iguodala to their respective deals to keep their core intact.

ESPN reported it is a four-year deal that will be worth $160 million. He will have the chance to become a free agent after the year. Crawford averaged 19.7 points for Golden State in 54 games after being acquired from the Knicks in exchange for Al Harrington.

Three of the NBA's biggest stars are off the market.

According to this report from Anthony Slater of The Athletic, it seems that Durant is leaning heavily in the direction of another short term deal. With most teams struggling to find cap room, the market could get really interesting this summer. "Process that", Philadelphia star Joel Embiid wrote on Twitter.

"Green and Durant are already lobbying".
