There appears to be some good news for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the aftermath of Thursday's disappointing Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

When the Cavs won their first-ever championship in 2016, Thompson was a force in the paint, averaging 10.3 points and 10.1 rebounds per game in the Finals. The league took exception to Kevin Love leaving his seat on the bench to join the scuffle in the closing seconds of Thursday's Game Two. I make the contest, and next thing I know I was being kicked out for making a contest that we learn in training camp. "I don't know why I got thrown out". Then, Draymond Green got into it with Thompson, and the banished Cavs big man shoved the ball in Draymond's face. Love was not checked into the game at the time of the skirmish, but he found himself on the court at the time of the pushing and shoving, though he quickly made his way back to the sideline. National Basketball Association rules state that a player who is not checked in at the time of a skirmish must remain on the bench until he is readmitted.

Love was not concerned about receiving a potential suspension. "I was already on the court trying to get the refs' attention before the scuffle".

Thompson had a quiet game to open the series.

"I say that we don't take the turnover". According to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, Green was mimicking a cheerleader waving pom-poms to mock Perkins who was screaming towards the Warriors' side of the court.

Thompson isn't placing blame for the incident, saying Smith was making a play for the ball.
