According to a person familiar with the meeting, Kardashian plans to ask Trump to pardon a woman serving a life sentence without parole for a first-time drug offense.

Kim will be visiting with her attorney, and they will discuss prison reform with Kushner, before they proceed to meet the president. His father, Charles Kushner, spent more than a year in a federal prison camp in Alabama on charges of tax evasion, illegal campaign contributions and witness tampering.

However, there are talks of him coming to the White House at a later date, according to Vanity Fair.

Wednesday's meeting is significant because it also marks Johnson's 63rd birthday, a fact which Kardashian West celebrated on Twitter early Wednesday morning. Her case for clemency was most recently denied in 2016 by the Obama administration.

"Kim is truly my war angel who will stop at nothing or leave no stone unturned to bring me home", Johnson said in the email.

Johnson also praised Kushner and Ivanka Trump, and said she supports their efforts in a criminal justice reform bill. "To me, the prison reform thing is so dear and near to me, right? One key part of that is the prisoners he and Kim have been lobbying to have released". "And I'm not going to stop that because people personally don't like Trump".

If Trump were to pardon Johnson, she would join four others whom the president has pardoned since taking office.

According to United States media reports, Johnson's conviction stemmed from her leading role in a multimillion-dollar drug ring that dealt thousands of kilograms of cocaine over a three-year period.

According to New York Magazine, Kardashian learned of Johnson's case a year ago and has spoken with senior adviser Jared Kushner, President Trump's son-in-law and Ivanka's husband, several times about the case.
