Michelle Wolf's Routine Sets Off a Furor at an Annual Washington Dinner

Some Republicans and several White House reporters came to Sanders' defense Sunday morning

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders arrives onstage at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner in Washington on April 28, 2018; Comedian Michelle Wolf performs at the dinner. Brzezinski has been the subject of personal attacks by Trump. Both times the dinner has been held during his presidency, Trump has bowed out, instead holding campaign-style rallies in battleground states he won in 2016; last year Trump went to Pennsylvania, and this year, he rallied in Washington Township, Michigan. Like, what's Uncle Tom but for white women who disappoint other white women?

In an earlier tweet, Trump called the evening, "a very big, boring bust". There were even whispers about a revolt against the Correspondents' Association by news organizations displeased by the night's events.

Trump, who did not attend for a second straight year, called Wolf's performance "filthy", and declared the annual gala "dead as we know it".

And that's exactly what she hoped to bring to the correspondents' dinner. "Is this more fun?" If you don't give her a platform, she has nowhere to lie. These people, they hate your guts. and you've got to smile. They did too but still they made mistakes. Everyone is focused on Sanders but that was only 1 1/2 minutes of Michelle's act. "You know? A press briefing, a bunch of lies or divided into softball teams". But he again skipped out in favor of another campaign-style rally, this time in MI, which he called "a big success". "And I don't want the cause of unity to be undercut".

The dinner once attracted Oscar winners and other notable performers in film and television as well as celebrities in sports and other high-profile professions.

Kamal Nath named chief of Congress unit in poll-bound MP
The Congress on Thursday appointed seasoned campaigner Kamal Nath head of the party unit in election-bound Madhya Pradesh. Soon after his appointment, Nath assured to work with full dedication to defeat the "non-secular parties".

Trump praised Savage, telling him that "you are doing a great job and you've been loyal to me from the beginning", and Savage suggested that he join the Trump administration to run the National Institutes of Health or a new version of the House Un-American Activities committee to investigate "subversive" progressive groups. He was the first president to skip the event since Ronald Reagan bowed out in 1981 as he recovered from an assassination attempt.

One of the cabinet members Wolf went at the hardest was White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

But one person who was still talking about the event after the fact was Trump, who tweeted out a lengthy rant criticizing the event on Sunday.

There's someone else who had to share what their thoughts on Monday, albeit in a more official format: Stormy Daniels, the porn star behind the lawsuit that would allow her to end a hush agreement over her alleged affair with President Trump.
