NBA Playoffs 2018: Predictions, Picks for Wizards vs. Raptors

The top-seeded Toronto Raptors (59-23) will try to follow up their best-ever regular season with a successful playoff run starting Saturday, when they host the eighth-seeded Washington Wizards (43-39) as home favorites for Game 1 of their Eastern Conference first-round series.

Kardinal Offishall - without his cross-country posse of the Rascalz, Checkmate, Choclair and Thrust - replaces the original chorus with one that now rhymes "notorious" with "Valanciunas". "They're good. They're No. 1 for a reason".

We'd heard snippets in commercial teasers, but you can now hear the full version via Sportsnet below.

The Raptors rank fifth in steals allowed per game (7.2) while the Wizards rank 17th (7.8).

The Wizards led the back-and-forth contest 96-95 with just over eight minutes to play in regulation, but Toronto closed the game on a 19-10 run thanks to some timely 3-point shooting from Delon Wright and C.J. Miles. DeRozan began the third quarter with a layup and a drilled three-pointer.

Serge Ibaka finished with 23 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks and Delon Wright scored 11 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter for the Raptors, who are off to a winning start in a playoff series for the first time in nearly 17 years.

"I'm always there sitting on the bench, drinking coconut water and watching the game", he said.

According to Russian Federation , however, the Israeli jets launched eight missiles at the air base but five were intercepted. The reportedly missiles struck an airbase near Damascus, killing at least 14 individuals including Iranian nationals.

The Wizards swept the Raptors in 2015, and while they didn't go into Toronto believing they'd do that again, they did think a road victory was very attainable.

It's just one game, and Washington looks ready to give Toronto a run in this first-round matchup. Do they abandon the traps in favor of taking away the supporting cast, and force DeRozan and Lowry to beat them against single coverage, or do they keep challenging the Raptors role players?

"They are a good team", Wizards coach Scott Brooks said, about Toronto's sizzing three-point shooting. As the pair traded baskets in the fourth quarter to build Toronto's lasting lead, the once-anxious fans, bred to expect failure in playoff openers, grew comfortable and loud. "Lucas is unbelievable, man", Serge Ibaka said".

No sequence on Saturday showed what Toronto is about more than a late-fourth-quarter possession ending in a 3 for Wright.

As big as that victory was for Toronto's confidence, head coach Dwane Casey wasn't content. "So, finally we probably got it, and now it feels great to play on this team".

Even without top reserve guard Fred VanVleet (shoulder), Toronto went six deep into its bench. That's old news, it's years ago, we're a different team, different style of play, different people on the team, different egos, things are just different.

In the fourth quarter of Game 1, the Wizards had a chance to win with an early lead. In July, they traded for Miles hoping the veteran guard would help speed the transition to a modern brand of basketball. Guys off the bench came in and stepped up.
