McGregor, who turned himself in late Thursday, was arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court for his alleged role in the melee, which left one man injured when McGregor appeared to throw a steel hand truck at a tour bus, shattering a window.

"A million security guards had to restrain him", said Rick Little, the coach of one of the fighters who was on Saturday night's fight card, Michael Chiesa. It appears to show McGregor and his entourage using a metal barricade and other objects to smash windows on a bus filled with fighters departing from the media event.

In January, the UFC announced that Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson would fight for the undisputed lightweight title at Saturday's MMA event, known as UFC 223.

In the underbelly of a NY arena 17 months later, McGregor went wild, using a dolly, chairs and guard rails as weapons, not his fists.

The UFC star hit the headlines today after reportedly being charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief in the United States, after furiously attacking a bus which was carrying his UFC rival Khabib Nurmagomedov.

MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani reported on Thursday that the Russian MMA fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov, who is scheduled to fight this weekend, confronted Artem Lobov, a teammate of McGregor's who was also scheduled for a bout this weekend, earlier this week at a hotel. Stripped of his lightweight belt by White on Wednesday, McGregor showed up at UFC 223's media day Thursday and wreaked havoc. As it transpired, on Friday, McGregor was finishing up with a bail hearing at a Brooklyn courthouse while the 25th anniversary presser was being set up.

McGregor and co-defendant Cian Cowley are due back in court June 14.

"What the fuck", Chiesa said in the video, as blood ran down his face. "But not in this situation", White said on ESPN Friday morning.

"Obviously the big question everybody's been asking me, 'are you firing Conor McGregor?'".

UFC president Dana White claimed that The Notorious, 29, told him in a text message conversation that the attack "had to be done", The Sun reports. He's awesome. Conor McGregor is a f***ing unicorn. McGregor responded on Twitter not long after with a profane tweet that said, in part, you will "strip me of nothing".

The Irishman hasn't fought in the octagon since November of 2016.

He did, however, fight and lose to Floyd Mayweather Jr in a money-spinning boxing match in August 2017.
