McGregor turned himself in on Thursday night (April 5) following an incident where he attacked a shuttle bus loaded with fellow mixed martial arts fighters who were attending a NY media event.

MMA fighter Cian Cowley was also charged with assault and criminal mischief, according to ESPN.

UFC said individuals involved in the incident are not welcome at tomorrow's ceremonial weigh-in or Saturday's event at Barclays Center.

UFC president Dana White has said that the van attack was "the most disgusting thing that ever happened in the history" of the UFC.

Lightweight Michael Chiesa received several facial cuts, while flyweight Ray Borg suffered an eye injury.

McGregor is not involved in the event, but has a teammate, Artem Lobov, on the card, and the main event will see McGregor's UFC lightweight title stripped from him, with the victor of the bout between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Max Holloway walking away the new undisputed UFC lightweight champion.

Dana White says Conor McGregor tried to justify his actions in Brooklyn on Thursday.

"The group deems as we speak's disruption fully unacceptable and is at the moment engaged on the results that can observe", UFC stated in a press release.

Michael Chiesa, who received "several facial cuts", tweeted to say the New York State Athletic Commission had made a decision to pull him from his bout against Anthony Pettis.

Not long after, McGregor arrived in the States looking for the unbeaten UFC lightweight, while viciously attacking a bus carrying fighters, injuring Michael Chiesa who's subsequently been pulled from the card. "Not right now, I don't think anyone is going to want to right now".

Mr White has said the victor of Saturday's bout during UFC 223 at the Barclays Center will be crowned undisputed champion. "Most of the things I would rather not say and probably can't say on TV", White said.

The 29-year-old MMA fighter turned himself into police last night after a warrant was issued for his arrest following social media footage appearing to show McGregor throw an object at a UFC team bus, smashing the window.

White advised TMZ that that is "larger than us firing him" in reference to McGregor, hinting that the star could also be in better authorized bother for the scuffle.

He did, however, fight, and lose to, Floyd Mayweather in a money-spinning boxing match in August 2017. It did not provide details on Lobov's role in the incident.

McGregor responded on Twitter, saying: "You'll strip me of nothing you's do nothing c**ts".
