World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth releases this August

Blizzard has announced that Battle for Azeroth, the seventh expansion for MMO World of Warcraft, will launch on August 14.

With waves of alpha invites hitting the inboxes of World of Warcraft players, the hype for World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth is growing.

In the latest edition of the game, the players will embark on a new journey to search for new allies, claim resources and fight on multiple fronts to turn the tides of the war in their favor and conquer and save the city of Azeroth from complete destruction. The company has been keeping the experience fresh since 2004 with major expansions and the fun train has no plans to stop in 2018. There's the Standard Edition (physical and digital at €44.99/£39.99), the Digital Edition deluxe (suggested price €59.99/£52.99), and the Collector's Edition.

WoW fans don't have to wait long for the Battle for Azeroth to arrive on PC. "World of Warcraft players are incredibly passionate about the characters and factions they identify within the game, and this expansion will make them prouder than ever to declare their allegiance to the Horde or to the Alliance". Alliance players can add the shadow-touched Void elves and valiant Lightforged draenei to their ranks, while members of the Horde will be able to bring the ancient Nightborne and noble Highmountain tauren into their faction's fold-with additional Allied Races to come in the future.

Battle for Azeroth evokes new emphasis on the opposing factions of the Alliance and the Horde. Place it on your desk or shelf and proclaim your chosen faction to the world.

There's a double sided story book, Elegy & A Good War, collecting a pair of novellas which depict the Burning of Teldrassil from Alliance and Horde perspectives in a svelte hardcover edition. Players can already purchase it here and they can get a level 110 boost to use immediately. The addition of races has always been a contentious one, and rumors have often circulated about Murlocks, Gnolls, and even Nagas as becoming playable, but Blizzard has scaled back on new races.

"Azeroth paid a bad price to end the apocalyptic march of the Legion's crusade - but even as the world's wounds are tended, it is the shattered trust between the Alliance and Horde that may prove hardest to mend".
