The Run the Jewels artist called himself "very pro-Second Amendment" in the video, which was posted Saturday, the same day as the March For Our Lives protests happening around the country and world. "That interview was used a week later by NRATV to disparage a very noble campaign that I actually support", he said.

The interview was shared at a time meant to "disparage a very noble campaign", he says. "I do support the march and I support black people owning guns. It's possible to do both", the rapper added.

Killer Mike, whose offstage name is Michael Render, has been an outspoken social activist for years, taking on social inequality, police brutality and systemic racism.

In the NRA video, he criticized National School Walkout Day - in which students left classes to pay tribute to the 17 people killed at Florida's Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School a month earlier and to demand stricter gun control laws.

Killer Mike is hoping to "clear some stuff up" about his NRA interview released this weekend, in which he defended gun owners.

- Killer Mike (@KillerMike) March 26, 2018 On Sunday, the rapper posted two videos saying the interview was done a week prior to the March for Our Lives and that he did an interview with the NRA to discuss topics with people he doesn't always agree with.

Atlanta rapper Killer Mike is a staunch defender of the 2nd Amendment, which grants American citizens the right to "bear arms". "You're a lackey of the progressive movement", he says, "because you've never disagreed with the people who tell you what to do".

After praising the students of Parkland, Fla. and the students who participated in the 2018 March for Our Lives, El-P praised Killer Mike as a good person, who he would never turn his back on just due to their differences.

"Not when I know their heart and know for a fact that they care more and try harder to help other people on a daily basis than most do in a lifetime".

The March for Our Lives was attended by Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, and more.

"I was disappointed Killer Mike sat down with NRA TV but he is reminding us here why he's awesome and broadly respected", another person said. "They want us to forget".

"I think CNN and Fox are viewpoint propaganda machines".
