Russian Ambassador to the UK Alexander Yakovenko has assured Detective Sergeant Nick Bailey, who was injured in the attack on ex-Russian intelligence officer Sergei Skripal, that Moscow has nothing to do with the incident, as is evident from a letter the ambassador wrote to the police officer.

Warsaw is considering "steps at the national level and in coalitions of countries" against Moscow over the poisoning of a Russian ex-spy in Britain, a Polish deputy foreign minister has said. Leonid Rink, a chemist who served time for supplying a military-grade poison that was used to murder a Russian banker and his secretary in 1995, has made headlines this week for acknowledging that he had helped create the nerve agent.

The site's chief executive told the BBC there is "no way" any nerve agent held at Porton Down could be linked to the poisoning of a Russian ex-spy and his daughter.

"We would not be allowed to operate if we had lack of control that could result in anything leaving the four walls of our facility here".

'Oumuamua came from a two-star system, astronomers find
But astronomers soon discovered the foreign object was natural in origin, and believed to have originated from the star Vega. It's remarkable that we've now seen for the first time a physical object from outside our solar system.

The UK government says they were poisoned with a nerve agent of a type developed by Russia called Novichok while the Russian government denies any involvement in the attack.

"We are working towards the Salisbury incident being treated as an event in Russia's relations with Europe, and not in bilateral relations between Moscow and London", Cichocki said.

Mr Skripal was sentenced to 13 years in a high-security prison in August 2006, before being freed in the 2010 deal which saw 10 Russian sleeper agents expelled from the United States.

Mr Timoshkov added that Mr Skripal told him that "he wrote to Vladimir Putin asking to be fully pardoned and to be allowed to visit Russian Federation". We spoke for about half an hour. He said that "many people of different nationalities" could have been exposed in the attack on Skripal. "He denied he was a traitor", Timoshkov said in an interview with the British broadcaster. "His classmates felt he had betrayed the Motherland", he said. "His mother, brother and other relatives were here".
