SXSW cancels The Roots concert after 'security concern'

The 3rd annual Bud Light x The Roots & Friends Jam Session was set to feature performances by the hip-hop band, along with the likes of Ludacris, Rapsody, Tank and the Bangas and more.

SXSW released a statement about the incident.

Manley said it was "obvious an explosion has taken place" and said the injuries to the two individuals - described earlier as two men in their 20s - were "significant". A report from The Rolling Stone confirms this. I'm sure we will return to Austin ladies and gentlemen.

Thankfully, the threat turned out to be a hoax, and the Austin Police Department arrested 26-year-old Trevor Weldon Ingram, charging him with felony charges of making a terror threat.

Austin Police said the bomb threat was sent via email to Live Nation Music. Central time on Saturday. Police officers responded immediately to secure the area but no threat was found.

Later Saturday, police were able to identify the suspect, pictured above, and obtained a warrant for his arrest shortly after 11 p.m. CT.

QuestLove, the frontman for the Philly band, warned fans about the cancellation on Twitter and then deleted his tweet.

The Roots drummer Questlove took to Twitter to tell his followers 'we cant risk our lives if we are told there was a bomb threat. According to Vanity, it wasn't until the show was scheduled to begin and a large crowd had gathered in front of the stage that the audience was notified of the threat.

Anthony House, 39, died after a bomb exploded on March 2.

The package-bomb cases have not been solved.

An explosion has occurred in Austin, Texas, only a day after a bomb threat forced The Roots to cancel a show at SXSW Festival.
